Chelti Winery traces its roots back to the previous century when the Mirianashvili family built their first wine cellar in Kakheti, Georgia. Giorgi Mirianashvili revived the winery in 2001 and it now owns 80 hectares of land, including vineyards, traditional and modern wine cellars, and a tourist complex. Chelti maintains ancient winemaking traditions using clay vessels (Qvevri), a method recognized by UNESCO as the oldest winemaking technique in the world, dating back 8000 years. The winery also holds the largest archive of Saperavi in Georgia, stored underground at a depth of 7 metres. Since its first vintage in 2007, Chelti has amassed an impressive collection of 200,000 bottles. It is represented in 25 countries globally.
