Gizella Winery

The grandparents of the present owner László Szilágyi founded the Gizella Winery in the town of Tokaj. Gizella produces wines from 12 different vineyards, making up 19 ha in total – all sustainably managed and farmed with horses. Gizella makes single vineyard selections with a focus on expressing the unique characteristics of this complex volcanic landscape, and sweet wines in limited quantities. One of the winery’s key projects is to reconstruct and promote a highly-regarded vineyard in Tokaj called Szil-völgy. Written records first mentioned this site in 1612 and it has been classified as a first-class vineyard ever since.
