A family winery that was founded as a hobby with seven hectares in 2004 in the beautiful location of Orlovac, but in 2009 it was transformed into a commercial operation and now farms 43 hectares (on incredibly stony soil, with a couple of Illyrian grave mounds preserved in the vineyard). Son Vlatko Nuić has recently returned from master’s studies in Austria to turn his hand to the family winery and is working towards organic production – feasible thanks to the karst bedrock, well-drained red soil, altitude (140 metres), mild winters and sunny summers. Indigenous varieties are most important, especially Žilavka, Blatina and Trnjak.
