Castel Mimi was founded in 1893 by the last governor of Bessarabia, Constantin Mimi, in the village of Bulboaca. It is Moldova’s first chateau, now beautifully restored and home to a family-owned winery. It owns 200 hectares of vineyards near the Nistru River and over 1000 barrels for wine maturation. Castel Mimi specializes in high-quality dry wines from international and indigenous grapes and produces about half a million bottles annually, exporting to 25 countries.
